چکیده

Direct lyotropic liquid crystalline templating has been successfully applied to produce nanostructured IV–VI semiconductor PbTe thin films by electrodeposition both on gold and n-type (100) silicon substrates. The PbTe films were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and polarized optical microscopy and the results show that the films have a regular hexagonal nanoarchitecture with a high crystalline rock salt structure and exhibit strong birefringence. The optical absorption measurements using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy show that the nanostructured PbTe films have a direct band gap of 0.37 eV. 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Optical and Electrical Properties of Copper Telluride Thin Films

Copper Telluride (CuTe) thin films have been successfully deposited on a glass substrate Fluorine Tin oxide (FTO) by electrodeposition technique. The absorbance was measured using M501 UV-visible spectrophotometer in the wavelength range of 200-900nm. Copper Telluride (CuTe) thin films were investigated at room temperature. Optical absorption study showed that CuTe films were of indirect band g...

Nanotemplated polyelectrolyte films as porous biomolecular delivery systems. Application to the growth factor BMP-2.

Biomaterials capable of delivering controlled quantities of bioactive agents, while maintaining mechanical integrity, are needed for a variety of cell contacting applications. We describe here a nanotemplating strategy toward porous, polyelectrolyte-based thin films capable of controlled biomolecular loading and release. Films are formed via the layer-by-layer assembly of charged polymers and n...

Optimization of thermoelectric properties on Bi2Te3 thin films deposited by thermal co-evaporation

The optimization of the thermal co-evaporation deposition process for n-type bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) thin films onto polyimide substrates for thermoelectric applications is reported. The influence of deposition parameters (evaporation rate and substrate temperature) on film composition and thermoelectric properties was studied for optimal thermoelectric performance. Energy-dispersive X-ray s...

Properties of Te-rich cadmium telluride thin films fabricated by closed space sublimation technique

Cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin films were prepared by the closed space sublimation (CSS) technique, using CdTe powder as evaporant onto substrates of water–white glass. In the next step, the same procedure was adopted by using tellurium as evaporant and already deposited CdTe film as substrate. Such compositions were then annealed at 300 1C for 30min to obtain Te-enriched films. The samples were...
